About Polypro

Rooster Polypro is constructed from a combination of Polypropylene (94%) and Elastane (6%). We've brushed the inner fabric surface to give it a thick, fleece-like, high quality texture which feels incredibly warm and soft next to your skin. The resulting garments provides excellent thermal qualities making it the perfect base layer. Polypropylene is naturally hydrophobic, which means the fabric feels remarkably dry, even when wet. We love wearing these socks underneath our Hot Socks which combine to create a fantastic heat barrier without adding bulk to the foot - in fact the possibilities are endless - our Polypro base layers would be great under your ski suit, drysuit, winter cycling, kayaking, walking and anytime you need a thermal base layer.

Also available as leggings, socks, gloves and headwear - see related items.

Laundry instructions

We recommend hand washing in warm water.

  • Breathable polypropylene material wicks moisture away from the body
  • Brushed ´fleece´ inner providing excellent thermal qualities
  • Dries very quickly after use and washing due to the hydrophobic (water repellent) nature of polypropylene
  • Wear beneath Hot Socks as an insulating layer during winter for incredible warmth
  • Ideal for a range of outdoor activities in the colder months including road cycling, mountain biking, kayaking and skiing

Love these socks surprisingly warm for how thin they are. I use them as boot socks offshore along with the leggings all year round and haven't yet had to add another layer. Great trainer sock for racing as they don't get soggy

Keep your feet nice and toasty and virtually eliminate that soupy boot-feeling

i use these under my boots all year round they are very warm and comfy. I'm excited to try them bodyboarding in the summer. But they fit very comfortably under my rooster hike boots and they help to keep my feet warm when launching into a freezing lake early January!!

Fantastic socks to keep your feet warm inside wet boots. I wear them all year round as they are so comfortable and extremely hard wearing. I wouldn't sail without them.

Excellent, I highly recommend these socks; warm and so comfy inside dinghy boots with no irritation from seams. Wish I'd bought these years ago!

Snug, toasty feet - I love them. Another excellent piece of kit from Rooster Sailing. Dont ever go sailing without them now.

I bought these socks along with Poly Pro Top and Leggins for my 12 year old son who crews in a Cadet. He absolutely Loves them! They make his Hiking boots vey easy to put on and keep his feet really warm. Apparently, they even stay on when you pull your boot off! I'm just pleased he loves them so much that they always come home in his sailing bag...

They kept my feet cosy and warm and i felt they worked best in the water than out of the water.Still yet to test them in the winter but during sailing my feet have been toasty. The one down side is i felt they some times slipped in my boot when they were wet this can some times put you off balance. It may have been though my neoprene boots.Love the design and the price isnt too bad too.I strongly recomend as an addition to anyones sailing kit -Laser sailor
