About Polypro

Rooster Polypro is constructed from a combination of Polypropylene (94%) and Elastane (6%). We've brushed the inner fabric surface to give it a thick, fleece-like, high quality texture which feels incredibly warm and soft next to your skin. The resulting garments provides excellent thermal qualities making it the perfect base layer. Polypropylene is naturally hydrophobic, which means the fabric feels remarkably dry, even when wet. These are a liner and should not be used in load conditions without normal glove protection.

In addition to sailing they are perfect beneath cycling and motorbike gloves for the sub-zero winter commute, and as an extra layer beneath skiing and snowboarding gloves

Also available as leggings, tops, socks and headwear - see related items.

Please note that this material is very stretchy and one particular glove size can span a number of hand sizes. Our new glove stock has been resized to reflect this feature and our old 'single size' gloves are only available until current stock is exhausted.

Laundry instructions

We recommend hand washing in warm water.

  •     Breathable polypropylene material wicks moisture away from the body
  •     Brushed ´fleece´ inner providing excellent thermal qualities
  •     Dries very quickly after use and washing due to the hydrophobic (water repellent) nature of polypropylene
  •     Wear beneath Aqua Pro Gloves as an insulating layer during winter for incredible warmth
  •     Ideal for a range of outdoor activities in the colder months including road cycling, mountain biking, kayaking and skiing

Perfect warmth but also good for single use for windsurfing!!
  • Nick Downing , Cornwall, 26 July 2020
Exellent for adding an extra level of cold protection in the winter.
This means you can sail for longer and more comfortably in the winter.
  • Malachy Brown, Oxford, 26 January 2020
These are really comfy and are useful for wearing under wet gloves, in the winter and for adding more warmth to short fingered gloves in the autumn.

I have only just discovered these to wear under sailing gloves on cold winter days. Wore them at our New Year's day annual sailing race and hands nice and warm for once.

I wear these gloves for winter running and find them really comfortable. I bought another pair at the Dinghy show because I lost my other pair recently. It’s not looking good however for my recent pair as I had to go out again to retrieve one I dropped in the woods the other day and I dropped one again in the park last night while walking the dog 🙃 Would you consider making them in another colour so that i’d be able to see them easier, especially in the dark 🤗

Great for underneath winter gloves for adding extra warmth, and allowing gloves to fit better too!
  • Samuel Walker, Felixstowe, 22 January 2018
Great for wearing underneath other gloves such as the AquaPro gloves to add extra warmth. My fingertips still feel a bit cold on especially cold days, but I don't think there is any other liners that would do a better job.

These are a must for winter sailing! The fleece lining is fantastic for keeping your hands warm, even if they get wet. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who sails between September - April. Can't wait to try them in the summer too! Toasty hands!

I've been through so many different gloves and base layers over the past couple of years and finally I've stumbled across something that is really unrivaled for warmth! It just so happened that I won a pair of these at a Topper National Series event, and now that temperatures are beginning to fall again I've put them to the test. They are super comfortable to wear with the soft polypro that wicks moisture away from your skin and with a pair of Aqua Pro gloves over the top I must surely have the warmest hands in the fleet!

Just picked up on the glove liner when I was visiting the Rooster shop and buying winter gloves. Used them inside some full fingered gloves sailing Laser at last event of season when it was chilling down. Kept hands nice n snug and even on second day when liners were still damp, so problem with cold fingers. Also used them for cycling - great product.

Treated myself just after Christmas, used with rooster gloves and the builders gloves, toasty fingers despite hands getting soaked, wish that I'd had these years ago!
  • mark fox, hillhead, 29 December 2013
These gloves really do work, I wear mine under thermal buiders gloves for Laser sailing and crewing a 505. Give them a try. Mark Stokes Bay SC

I suffer really badly with cold fingers in the winter. Actually, I suffer in Spring....Summer.....Autumn AND Winter :-D These are awesomely warm. A little tricky to get on at first as they stick to your hands a bit - and a bit moreso when your hands are wet - but persevere because they're brilliant. I use them under the Thermo 'builders' gloves also on this site and my hands/fingers have been superwarm all winter at bargain price.

these are great glove liners for skiing too. not too sure why the index finger is as long as it is though
