Following the success of our Aquafleece top, combining the warmth of a fleece inner layer with the wind protection of a Polyurathene outer, we wanted to utilise these same qualities for our new Winter gloves. We have been working hard to further develop the material by increasing the stretch capabilities needed for a comfortable glove. The result is the all new Rooster AquaPro glove with new longer lasting ´Super Grip´ coated palm and velcro strap fastener around the wrist. This ´top of the range´ glove virtually eliminates the wind chill experienced with neoprene gloves whilst still giving the user the control and feel that you would expect from a top product.

QUICK TIP: If you have got them wet on saturday and you are sailing on sunday - pour warm water into them and put your hands in - they will be toasty all day!

´January training in Weymouth brr! But thanks Y&Y for the Mini Test on Rooster Aquafleece gloves (January 7 2006 issue), brought some at the London Boat Show and headed straight down to Weymouth to train with the rest of the GBR development squad. At last a pair of gloves that keep the fingers warm, grip well and aren´t too bulky. Well done Rooster.´
Michael Cogswell, Team GBR Paralympic Squad

Laundry instructions

We recommend either hand washing in warm soapy water and allowing to air dry or turning inside out and machine washing on a gentle 30°C wash then tumble drying on a low heat setting.

  • Developed using the same principles as the Aquafleece - Combines the wind protection of a Polyurethane outer layer with the insulation of a fleece inner layer

  • This combination virtually eliminates the wind chill whilst retaining the control and feel necessary for competitive dinghy sailing

  • Super Grip coated palms for a positive feel on tiller extensions, sheets and control lines

  • Velcro wrist fastenings for added security and to reduce water ingress

  • Layer up with Rooster Hot Hands or Poly Pro Hands when it’s really cold!

Been sailing for 40 years and never worn gloves in AUS, i don't like wearing them to get the feel of the ropes, however the British cold weather has made it a must and i have tried numerous brands which i found uncomfortable. These Aquapro gloves are fantastic, keep me much warmer and feel great when holding the ropes, thanks
  • Andy, Heathrow, 26 January 2020
Very warm and comfortable when dry a little thinner than i was expecting but i found this was good whilst rigging.
I was able to experience a these with a wind chill of around 3 degrees so far so good. However as soon as these got wet you certainly knew about it. Sailed around for about an hour and these gloves started to warm my hands up.
All in all great glove but would recomend the additional polypro liners when its extra cold.
  • Malachy Brown, Oxford, 21 December 2019
Really good pair of gloves, keep my hands, warm when sailing my topper, they are perfect for winter sailing and I have used them on Keelboats as well and they work perfectly for everything.
  • Sarah Parr, Mold, 11 December 2019
Great gloves for winter sailing and work really well with the hot hands liners on the coldest days. Very snug and warm.
  • Tom Bates , Harrogate, 11 October 2019
Very warm and comfortable for my hands. paired with the polypro liners for the winter they are fantastic!
  • Alison Hutton, Stockport, 29 July 2019
These gloves are the best gloves for yachting that I have ever used (as well as great for dinghy sailing) as they actually dry out overnight (neoprene/leather etc stays soggy once wet until you go home)
  • Paul Bowler, Carina, 27 March 2019
    Love these gloves.
Warm, good protection whilst still allows great dexterity.
I use them for everything from dinghy sailing to keelboats/ offshore and even for motorcycle gloves!

  • Hulda Lilja Hannedóttir, Reykjavík, 06 October 2018
These gloves saved my hands, warm but still soft making movements not too hard.
  • James Dowrick, Cornwall, 24 October 2016
As someone who suffers from cold hands these gloves are perfect for cold weather sailing. They product such good grip without compromising on warmth & comfort. Also great to wear when sitting the the coach or safety boat!
  • Ollie, Haslemere, 18 October 2016
I suffer from a condition called Raynaud's which is triggered in cold conditions - my hands go white. However, these gloves took me through the winter and i was fine. "Best gloves" definitely!
  • Richard Onions, Birmingham, 15 October 2016
The best gloves I've ever bought. Squeeze them whilst racing to get the water out of them and they seem to warm up. The only gloves you will ever need.
  • Mike Powell, Bellingham, WA, USA, 14 October 2016
I use these gloves in the chilly/wet season racing Lasers, 505's, big boats and riding road and mountain. bikes. Great for keeping your hands warm when wet.
  • Matthew Doliczny, Stroud, 21 April 2016
I currently sail in the topper national series and bought a pair of these gloves along with glove liners and I couldn't have asked for more, they are comfortable and give you plenty of grip, would certainly recommend these to anyone looking for some good quality winter gloves.
  • Sam Jenkins, Oxford, 08 December 2015
I am reviewing the old AquaPro glove. These are remarkably thin and warm offering great sensation and dexterity for a winter glove. The only quibble I would take would be the lack of grip. The surface of the fingers and palms is a little too smooth for my liking and can make it tricky to hold a sheet without it slipping through the hand over time. Hopefully Rooster have improved the grip in the new model. After 4 years of loyal service, it is time to upgrade to this new model!
Rooster Reply:Thanks for the review Sam! - It does indeed sound like you have the previous incarnation of our AquaPro gloves. You'll be pleased to hear that the latest version not only features an improved grip surface, but the whole glove has been re-designed from the ground up.
  • Jennie Clark, YORK, 19 January 2015
Having tried all sorts of different winter gloves we have finally found a pair that work, are comfy and dry quickly. Can't recommend them highly enough. We have 2 pairs now!!
