Rooster wetsuits are designed by sailors and watersports enthusiasts who understand exactly how technical kit needs to perform — not just when standing on shore, but when fully immersed, repeatedly used, stretched, hiked in, soaked through, dried out, and pushed hard session after session.
Our ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges have been developed specifically around the movements and demands of dinghy sailing and high-performance watersports. Every seam placement, panel shape, fabric choice, and construction method has been carefully considered to ensure the wetsuit works with the body rather than against it.

Unlike generic watersports wetsuits designed for broad use across surfing or recreational activities, Rooster® wetsuits are engineered around the dynamic movement patterns of sailing. Whether hiking hard upwind, manoeuvring through tacks and gybes, trapezing, paddling, or foiling, the ranges are built to move naturally with the user while maintaining warmth, flexibility, and long-term durability.
The ThermaFlex 1.5mm range focuses on lightweight performance and unrestricted movement in milder conditions. Constructed using highly flexible neoprene and strategically positioned panels, the range minimises resistance across key movement zones such as the shoulders, lower back, hips, and knees. The seam layout has been developed to reduce pressure points and eliminate restriction during active sailing positions, helping sailors maintain comfort and mobility throughout long sessions on the water.
Flatlock seam construction enhances flexibility while maintaining durability and comfort against the skin, making the range ideal for high-output sailing and watersports where breathability, freedom of movement, and temperature regulation are critical. The fabrics are chosen not only for stretch when dry, but for how they continue to perform once wet, maintaining flexibility without becoming heavy or restrictive over time.
The SuperTherm 4mm range is designed for colder conditions where thermal protection and durability become increasingly important, without sacrificing the movement needed for performance sailing. Featuring glued and blind stitched seam construction, the range significantly reduces water ingress while maintaining flexibility and comfort. This construction method also improves durability and thermal efficiency by creating stronger, lower-profile seams that move naturally with the body and minimise rubbing during extended use.
Using a carefully balanced combination of thermal lining, supportive neoprene thicknesses, and articulated panel design, the SuperTherm range delivers warmth while still allowing the body to move efficiently and naturally. The panel layout has been refined to support repeated movement in demanding sailing positions, reducing fatigue and improving overall comfort during long sessions afloat. Reinforced construction in high-wear areas improves durability against abrasive decks, hiking straps, and repeated use, while maintaining flexibility where it matters most.
Both the ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges are also available in dedicated women’s fits, developed specifically around female body shapes rather than simply scaling down men’s patterns. The women’s designs incorporate refined panel shaping and fit adjustments to improve comfort, mobility, and overall performance on the water. By carefully considering how the wetsuit fits and moves across different body shapes, the ranges provide a more natural and supportive fit without compromising technical performance. Across both ranges, durability is just as important as initial comfort. Repeated exposure to salt water, UV, stretching, and constant movement places huge demands on wetsuit construction, which is why we focus heavily on long-term performance testing. Materials and seam constructions are selected not simply for how they feel out of the packaging, but for how they continue to perform after extensive use throughout a season.
Every development decision comes from real on-water experience. As sailors ourselves, we understand how technical kit needs to respond in changing conditions, how it should feel after hours on the water, and where comfort, stretch, protection, and durability matter most. That understanding is built into every aspect of the ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges.
