Description

Designed for maximum flexibility, grip and feel around the boat - the Rooster Split Toe Skiff Boot ticks all the boxes.

Featuring a 1mm sole, 5mm fluid sealed seam construction and an internal split toe, the attention to detail is second to none and will not go un-noticed on the water.

If you were looking for boots suited to hiking dinghies, please see our purpose designed Rooster Hike Boots, Rooster Pro Laced Boots or Rooster All Purpose Boots.

Laundry instructions

We recommend hand washing in warm soapy water and allowing to air dry.

FEATURES

  • Internal split toe prevents the boot twisting round the foot when trapezing and removes the risk of mainsheets, control lines and stones getting lodged in between your toes!

  • Reinforced single Velcro strap locks the heel into the boot for greater stability

  • Diamond cut sole provides excellent grip trapezing off racks, wings, hulls and around the boat in general

  • Sole extends round the side of the foot to prevent wear from footstraps

  • Made from 5mm neoprene for additional warmth as the split toe design prevents the use of a sock liner

  • Fluid sealed seams minimise water ingress and flushing

No good for a 49er sailor. Soles wore through after 3 uses. Good feel while they lasted.

Having sailed a Musto skiff now for some years, I have found the the best wet suit boots tend to be flexible, thin soled with high levels of grip and split toe. This gives a feeling of security as your feet don't slip on the deck unexpectedly and and you get better feed back through your feet with a thin sole. The draw back has always been the wear rate, at best I would get about 10 weeks of use before they fell apart. I have tried numerous types and makes of this type of boot and have now found the Rooster Split Toe Boot. This boot ticks all the boxes, lightweight, flexible, warm, very very grippy and they last much longer than any other similar boot. I would strongly recommend these boots for any none hiking boat.

I have been using these boots for a over a year and I find the grip excellent even when they get older. As with all skiff boots they don't last nearly as long as traditional dinghy boots but I find these ones last longer than all the skiff boots I have tried. They are warm in winter but are still thin enough to give good feel. The seals on the top are good at keeping the water out. My only gripe is that the tags for the velco straps can get caught on the trapeze elastic, but I cut these off and then I don't have any problems.
