Please be advised, these boots do come up small on the sizing. Please take this into consideration when placing your order.

We wanted to give this boot the ultimate support for hiking and trapezing together with the adaptability for wearing with drysuits or wet socks depending on the season. Its elastic lace up style accommodates widely varying ankle and foot size widths. We have had samples on test for over 18 months and our testers all said that this was their favourite boot.

"I could not wrestle my sample pair from my wife despite my pleading. I AM going to get a pair from production - Hands Off!"

Comfortable boots for dinghy sailing however it's now day 4 and they are still filling my dinghy with black muck from the tread. Also, the laces, once pulled tight, have a very flicky end, which is fine in the boat bit is irritating when walking. The ends need to be tucked in.

Had been wearing the all purpose Rooster boots for past 2or 3 years which have done well but showing a lot of wear on soles and zips would never go up or sty closed. Interested in the new boots with laces instead of zips. Have now done about 7 days sailing in new boots and they are great. Had to go for Size 41 equivalent to UK 6.5 to get into them as laces make getting into boots a bit more tricky. Also note weight of boots is 1kg approx and about 200gm heavier than all purpose pair. But soles seem much thicker so should last well. Recommended.

very good boots but bought 43 to go over my dry suit, yes they will if using a very thin sock on top of the suit but too little room for a warming layer inside the suit. Quite a tight fit for my 42 sized feet is typical inconsistent rooster sizing, I'm hoping will stretch a little. With normal use i.e. With a wet suit and polypropylene socks nae bother, so they loose that extra star to make 4 rather than 5 for me. The product is well made so no quality issues as yet a seasons hard use will tell more.

Good support when hiking. Good grip after the first couple of uses softened the sole a bit. They are wearing well after a year of regular use but one spot needs re-glueing hence the 4 star.

These boots are the best boots I have ever owned - great support for hiking and they keep your feet nice and toasty. The only thing stopping them from getting 5 five stars is the fact that after 5 months of uses the laces have broken. Although this is easy to fix it is a bit of a pain and you should expect better quality than this.

A previous review reported these boots being on the large side (in men's sizes). I'm usually a 5.5 so I decided to order a size 5 based on this. Big mistake, the 5 comes up very small. If you're between sizes I'd recommend ordering more than one pair to check fit (especially if you want to get socks underneath). That said, these seem like great boots, can't wait to get a bigger size and try them out.

I'm rarely swayed by PR blurb: ""The best this....the greatest that"" but these boots are simply brilliant. I suffer from cold hands and feet - even in the cooler Summer days so, despite trying out many many different 'foot warming' products I took a punt on these boots. What a revelation. With a pair of thin metalite wetsuit socks, my feet were - if anything - almost TOO warm yesterday. The 'lace-up' system is really just a length of shockcord - but makes for easy adjustment for a really snug fit and no faffing when trying to undo them after a cold day on the water. These really are great boots. Really comfortable, quite a wide fit - so socks will fit nicely. I found them a struggle to get on over latex drysuit socks but I think that just goes with the territory to be honest. A really really good, warm, grippy and supportive boot. Great product.

For me it was a toss up between teh Pro Laced and the All purpose boot. But talking to Steve and the team at Rooster, I elected to go for these. Only worn the once, and not disappointed. Jon M

Not sailed yet but had to swap the 46 for a 45, I'm around a 10.5 shoe size. 46 pretty big. From a try on, feel great.

For 3 years I have been wearing Rooster 'All Purpose zip up Boots' weekend in, weekend out, but the original pair has finally fallen apart. I was going to buy the same again, but seeing the new lace-up versions I thought they would be worth a try and on the basis of this weekend's sailing I would recommend them. Tightening the laces gets a slightly better fit than 'zipping up' and reduces the amount of water in the boot. This results in slightly warmer feet and a more secure feel. One consideration, like most new shoes the soles are very slightly slippery when first worn although this slipperiness had gone by the second sail.

These boots really are the business. After years of trying all sorts of styles I have to say I really like the side lacing method. I'm wide fitting 11 1/2 and got the 46. Really comfy fit and with the side lacing pulled up snug there minimal water ingress... with one foot a size and a half smaller this has always been an issue for me, but hopefully no more :-) Great to hike on and with a thick enough sole to take on Felpham's stone beach. Great produce Steve!

The new boot hugs your foot completely providing support where you need it plus its design means you still have flexibility when you want it. Having used and loved Rooster zip boots for years the one flaw is that over time the velcro fails to hold the zip and the zip can come undone this boot gets over this problem with the laced design. Great boot.

Great Boots! (If a little of a squeeze to get on) - Really supportive with excellent grip and very comfortable when hiking out - Highly recommend them! Charlie

At last some great, warm, comfy hiking boots to replace my worn out Aigle boots. I think these are slighly wider that the rooster zip boots.
