I have just finished a great week of racing in Paignton, UK doing the UK Nationals. This was my first event of this tour. We had 6 days of racing and a great range of winds and conditions. I sailed very consistently over the week having all my races in the top 10 apart from one.
The results can be fund here: http://www.kbsuk..com/data/LaserEvents/data/results/radnats.13goldnh.html
I was 1st Female out of 26 and out of the entire fleet of 130 sailors I placed 6th!
I had a great time racing in the UK. The event was very well run and the race officer was one the the best I have ever raced under. He had the numbers of the boats disqualified under the black flag rule on the board after a general recall in less than 1min. We also had a visit from the BBC where I managed to get an interview!
I will travel to Ireland on the 17th August. I have a three day clinic followed by the Irish nationals in Cork. This will be a great warm up for the European Championships starting at the end of the month also in Ireland but on the other coast near Dublin.
A big thanks to:
Liz Rayner for her great hospitality last week!
Steve Cockerill for helping me get my boat set up with all the best Rooster gear!
My Uncle Tim and Lynne for helping me with a Car which without none of this would be possible!
Charlie Baillie Strong, Ian Neely and Matt Coutt's for there coaching
Also thanks to my Sponsors:
