Awesome first day at the UK Laser Radial Nationals!
The wind came in strong as forecast sitting between 15-20knots gusting up to 25knots.
Typical English summer so we had rain most the day. I was very thankful for my new Rooster SuperTherm
We completed two races.
First race I was about 15th at the top mark but by the bottom I had pulled upto 10th. I managed to hang in there on the 2nd beat and pull upto 5th on the final downwind! Great start to my regatta!!!
Race two my first beat was much better and I was 5th around the top mark. By the bottom mark I had a narrow lead. One boat managed to pass me on the final beat so I finished in 2nd.
With a 5th and a 2nd I sit in 5th overall.
Three races planned for tomorrow and the wind is forecast to be a bit less.
A huge thanks to Steve Cockerill
and Mike Pasco for helping me set up my boat with all the Rooster gear! Its helping me be super speedy for sure!
