Summer Full of Sailing!
It’s ages since I’ve blogged and masses has happened since then.
It seems to have been non-stop sailing for weeks now, just how I like it. Lots of good racing at the Club, really enjoyed sailing my Europe at the Commodore’s Weekend and won the Junior Trophy. My new flat sail helped hugely as it was really windy. After that we had the final round of the RS Tera North Travellers series at South Windermere SC, where I managed to win the open meeting and the overall series - result! Then on to Filey Regatta where it blew old boots, Katie got seasick and I raced with Sandy from Ullswater as crew on the Saturday. Huge fun, lots of capsizes but fun nevertheless.
My new Race Skin has been well and truly tested as I wore it at Filey. I like it very much, it fits well, is nicely shaped and the zip doesn’t poke out like some do. I have brought that, and my Thermaflex Long John, to NSSA Regatta Week at Gorleston so I can alternate them and not have to get into a wet wetsuit each day!
It’s the first time I’ve done NSSA Regatta Week and so far I am LOVING IT. Great fun, all of the team camping together and with 300 competitors it’s a huge event. My friend Holly is crewing for me this week and we are hoping for some good breeze. Next week I am sailing the 200 with Dad at North West Norfolk Week and also doing some Europe sailing at my ‘Norfolk’ club, Overy Staithe SC, as there is a junior trophy event on. This is what summer is for!!
