Winter proper is fast approaching and the Toppering is over for another season so as I prepare for the Draycote Dash in the 200 I look back and think how good was my kit and will I be warm this weekend? The answer to these two question is, in the first part great and the second part warm. I had the
poly pro bundle which has kept me warm in the winter but also works as a protective layer in the summer. I also had the
Hot-Stuff bundle which although it has probably been my least used kit, I was glad to have it when it got really cold. It meant I could still use my
hikers even when the ice has began to freeze. Talking of the hikers they have been the most comfortable hikers I have ever had, while giving me the further protection when I hit my knees. Unfortunately my
Pro Aquafleece sank somewhere in the waters of Pwllheli but up until this point it it was great but this meant I had to finish the season in my old and now very snug fitting
standard Aquafleece. So what do I like about the kit? Well I’m small and the fit is very good for me. It keeps me warm, gives me good movement and it’s durable. Basically it does what it says on the box.
