Sail GP Inspire - How is Sailing Like Football?
Rooster have now been part of the SailGP Inspire Programme for two events. Each time we meet a new group of local kids it gets more and more inspirational. In Marseille, we met an energetic group of hilarious and enthusiastic kids hailing from Marseille as well as many who have moved here from further afield, Algeria. The group was comprised of kids from local dance crew AC2N Association and Notre Dame Football Club. This group of dance, rap, music and football enthusiasts got an awesome opportunity to sail RS Cat14s then meet the French home team out on the water, on their F50 boat. They had the chance to sit with them and have a casual chat to try and understand this new foreign sport. "So, who's in the A team and who's in the B team." "Who's the coach? Who is selecting the players?" These kids really get down to the nitty-gritty, there's no messing around, constantly making comparisons to how the Football world works, getting the best idea of who they are meeting, what they do and who the strongest players are.
