I had to write this blog to all of us who live above the equator since it's now beginning to get cold. Well, it's practically freezing here in Florida…18 Degrees : )
I absolutely hate cold weather sailing gear because of its bulkiness, stiffness, and inability to stay clean, but Rooster Sailing gear has changed my feelings. For over a year I have been sailing with the Rooster SuperTherm LongJohn
and I absolutely love them. The reason being pertains to their flexibility, warmth, and cleanliness. What is also a big plus is they dry quickly over night.
I love how they are form fitting to my legs, which is important because while hiking upwind I don't have a shift of the pads. They feel custom made for the design of my leg. Downwind, I am very dynamic and my manoeuvres in the boat require me to be up/down and back/forward. The flexibility of the suit allows me to make quick moves and changes so I can further my surfing time.
Being a true bred Floridian means I am a wimp when it comes to the cold. Literally winter in my state is 15 degrees. Coming to Europe and sailing in the Spring is a complete shock to my body (I can't even fathom the idea of winter). This is the first time that I can manage the cold without feeling bulky.
It's a great product and I highly recommend to give it a shot this winter season. It could also be a great gift for the holidays! by Paige Railey USA Laser Radial Olympic Aspirant
