I was recently at Preswick for another Scottish Laser regatta. Prestwick is one of my favourite venues to sail at, very open with great waves and they will be hosting the RS300 Nationals in August too. A friendlier club would be hard to find. I had a slightly mixed weekend, sometimes sailing fast then not for no obvious reason. I probably need to go and practice, although I'm pretty sure I know what I did wrong upwind but not really when it comes to going fast downwind. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I feel I'm still coming to terms with the Laser since I re-started sailing them. Fotoboat was there in the form of Alan Henderson and took some brilliant photos on the Saturday, when the sun was shining. He had the day off on Sunday and sailed his own boat. We are so lucky these days with the number of sailing photos that we can get. I have a few from my early days of sailing but you were lucky if you managed to get even one picture from a nationals. I sailed Nationals, Europeans and qualifiers for a number of years and got 2 photos of me. Then the digital age hit and there has been an explosion of photo taking at regattas and club sailing, so I now have loads. Alan took a really nice one of me at Prestwick, so good it appeared on the Yachts and Yachting website. I've not managed that for a while. yandy111330
