Moving on up

By Seb Andrews 2nd October 2020

I've sailed at Bartley and at Upton Warren throughout the Autumn, Winter and Spring series and completed my Powerboat 2 qualification. I was very pleased to be awarded the Annual Youth Prize at Bartley back in February.
I have very recently moved into a standard rig. The main advantage for me is that there is so much more room to move with the boom being several inches higher - being 15, I have grown a lot this year! I'm 6 foot 1 inches at the moment.
I entered the Laser Midland Grand Prix at Bartley earlier this month. There were a few strong gusts coming through which made for some great racing. I came 27th overall - I'd tried my hardest so was happy with that.
I'm now really looking forward to the NSSA Inland Championships next weekend at Datchet Water. I've decided to stick with the radial for this competition - not quite confident enough for the standard rig at competition level yet! I'll be displaying the Team Rooster stickers on my boat and wearing the Team Rooster rash vest with pride.

But now, back to GCSE revision......!!!!!
