Or should that be Salcombe, are you ready for the Merlin Rockets?!
The fleet’s annual holiday starts this weekend with 120 boats making the pilgrimage to the beautiful sandy beaches and blue waters of Salcombe harbour. Whilst many will be dreaming about the Doombar, pasties, cream teas, crab sandwiches and the famous Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream - don’t forget to make sure your sailing kit and tool box are packed, primed and ready for the action!
The forecast is looking rather good at the moment, but Salcombe is renowned for providing the competitors with a lottery of conditions to keep everyone on their toes.
We recommend the Thermaflex Longjohn
as a good summer all-rounder, providing protection for the legs and a bit of warmth when the sea breeze kicks in. Pair these with some Race Armour Lite Shorts
or our Neoprene Race Skin Shorts
, which will stop the control line cleats from chomping up the seat of your Thermaflex LJ
For the ladies we recommend the contoured Black Diamond Free Form Buoyancy Aid
. It comes with additional neoprene modesty panels for the scorchio days when you just want to be wearing a bikini top, but feel comfortable and protected whilst performing crew acrobatics in the front of the boat.
To avoid looking like a lobster in the bar, we would also recommend packing our Prosport Factor 44
waterproof 8hr suncream and an Aeromesh Cap
with a Retainer Leash
For those worried about getting your kit in time, Lucy will be heading down on Saturday and will be happy to deliver them. Please ensure you place your order and pay online by midday Thursday 2nd
July, put your delivery address as Salcombe Yacht Club and select the collection option. Lucy will be at the Club from 6:30pm – 8pm Saturday evening.
Have a fantastic week everyone!
