It is always disappointing when your season comes to an end knowing that you probably won’t fleet race for another four months, for one last hurrah I teamed up with Arran Holman and borrowed a boat from Hollowell sailing club for the Rs Feva End of Seasons, we had no intention of turning up as pot hunters we just wanted to race. The Rs Feva being the number one junior two man boat in the UK we were guaranteed a good turn out.
An impressive turnout of 94 boats registered which subsequently provided competitive racing. The first race was a 1 lap marathon due to the incredibly light winds, we got a good start and were away and never looked back. In the second race the breeze increased but we still went on to win.
The second day dawned and with it some breeze. There was respectful 5 minute silence for the fallen then it was onto the racing which was fast and furious, let me rephrase that, not fast but furious. We had a poor start in the 3rd race and struggled to come back and finished a disappointing 7th. The second race wasn’t much better as we as we pushed the start that little to much and scored a black flag. In the final race we had to have a decent result to win the title which we did in style by winning the race and securing the title.
