Kit Guide

For your top half we would recommend a Long Sleeve Lycra top which will provide protection from the suns harmful UV rays. If comfort is your primary objective then our new Pro Brushed Lycra range is for you. The soft brushed inner provides better thermal regulation properties than normal lycra whilst maintaining a luxury feel against the skin. Both garments are available as leggings for maximum sun protection.

Head wear is particularly important on hot sunny days - our range of Rooster Visors and Caps are made from breathable Rooster Aeromesh fabric with integral lycra sweatbands.

Finish off with a pair of Rooster Pro Race 2 Finger Cut Gloves and one of our side zip Buoyancy Aids - available in a range of colours and made from strong Rip Stop fabric for durability, with safety reflective strips in key positions. For practicality it features a large gusseted front pocket with space for a hat, safety knife, tape and snacks. It also incorporates a hook for keys and mesh pocket for shackles and other spares.

This particular combination of kit was worn by Team Rooster sailor, Jake Bowhay, at the recent Topper World Championships at Riva del Garda, Italy.
Keeping a Cool Head on the Water
We've talked about how to keep warm using the Rooster layering system, now we'd like to discuss which pieces of kit will keep you cool when the heat is on. Dehydration, sun stroke, sun burn - they all affect performance on the water. Sun cream, drinks and a hat are the obvious choices but you also want to feel confident that your kit is going to provide you with the support and protection you need. Our range of hiking and wear protection shorts are all compatible with our removable hiking pads helping you to hike harder for longer. Our RaceArmour™ LITE shorts feature dual-layer contoured neoprene padding with a durable armoured exterior and 410gsm Spandex front panels. They can be worn alone or over the top of an existing neoprene layer for added protection.
