Hayling Island

By 2nd October 2020
Katie Bio Picture It has been quite daunting moving from the Regatta fleet last year to Senior Main in one move, there are some really good sailors out there! Well done to Sam, getting a 28th position. We travelled down to Hayling Friday night, family, Puffin rib and 2 Optimists. We stopped at the North Sail Loft to collect my V4 sail. Thank you Tim for your time. Saturday arrived with cool conditions and slightly damp in the morning, followed by a building breeze which led to some interesting and fun sailing. Sunday was breezy, I like the windier conditions. The sunshine over the weekend was a real welcome treat and the Saturday night BBQ was really great. I found the tide really hard to cope with, especially around the windward mark, I am sure they put it right in the middle of the strongest bit of tide. I was also struggling with my old hiking shorts and took them off in the end, sore leg muscles Monday (no PE for me hopefully)! I am going to try the Rooster Race Armour Shorts with the 185 Pro Hiking Pads. Hopefully see you at Hollowell on the 4th and 5th July. KT   
