Dinghy Show Visit

By Ian Baillie 30th September 2020

I had a great visit to the Dinghy Show last Sunday. It really is a unique show and if you have never been then you really need to get yourself there next year.
It's the enthusiasm of the people on the stands and those who have paid to get in that makes it such a great place to spend a Sunday.
I had a nice chat with the Rooster Team and caught up with what they had been doing since we last met. I was able to have a look at the new gear and to see some of the existing stuff too. Sometimes the website doesn't do the product justice and I think I might have to splash out on a thermaflex long john for the summer. And I'm really keen to try out the new Supertherm, it looks like a proper Scottish wetsuit, I'll let you know what I think when I get a chance to try it out.
With so many boats, it's hard to pick out a favourite but there were a few things that I liked, the new RS300 carbon boom being one of them, the new RS800 rig looks good, I really liked the concept of the K1 and it looks nice too and I boggled at the banks of cleats and miles of string on the 505, Merlin and Phantom. And there is something about the smell of polyester and polish round Pete Vincent's stand that just makes me smile.
Great show, hope I can make it down next year.
