Kit Guide
The main fleet was limited to 90 entrants, which included most of this year’s GBR Worlds and Euro's team sailors. With the race area in the harbour it produced some difficult tidal features but did allow for a leisurely start on both mornings, as we had to wait until mid-day for there to be sufficient water in the harbour!
Over the 2 days I was pleased to put together a consistent set of results, finishing 2nd overall and one of only two sailors with all results in the top 10.
My next major event is the Flanders regatta with the GBR Worlds team at the beginning of July. The tides can also be a major factor at this regatta, so hopefully we’ll benefit from the HISC racing.

2015 HISC Optimist Open - Sunshine, 12-20 knots & plenty of tide!
On Saturday there was a steady 12 to 14 knots with three races completed. On Sunday the conditions were even better with 15 to 20 knots and plenty of sunshine - perfect sailing conditions and an opportunity to use some of the Rooster summer kit, including a new pair of Lightweight Grip Gloves.
