2012 Round The Island Race

I am about to embark on the longest and largest sailing race I have ever done; the 2012 Round the island race. I will be helming a X-treme 25, a new high performance sports boat capable of doing just over 20 knots, with the wind forecast at just over 20 knots I am expecting it to be very exciting and very very wet. It will be a good test for my new rooster offshore gear which I can so far say has been very good. I have done some yacht racing but with 90+ boats on our start and 1600+ boats racing it will be a totally new challenge. After the race I will do another blog in which I will say how the race went.
