Laser Padded Toe Strap - Rigging and Fixing Tips:

Rigging

We make the Rooster Padded toestrap slightly shorter that the Laser Centre one – so that you can make use of the full range of adjustment of a 2:1 system as shown here - Personally this is my preference - I find that it has fast and reliable adjustment positions.

Note that the bowline making the adjustment has a small rope handle to allow for fast tightening. - Normally at the windward mark to keep your bum out of the water when you move further back in the boat.

Fixing

Best way to get the fixing holes in the right place is to use the screws themselves to drive through the webbing. Make sure that you screw through the toestrap brake (the oblong blue plastic shown below) to ensure the holes are in the right place. It is also worth putting a little silicone in the hole and on the end of the screws to keep the boat leak free. Rooster has ensured that this product has a long life by doubling the webbing at the front - as this is normally the first place the toestrap wears out.
