ROOSTER SAILING INFORMATION SHEET 2s

Great Info on how to set up your Rooster Carbon Tiller + and more!:

Once you have purchased your roller tiller - here are a couple of tips -
Keep the roller free of salt and sand - by washing down at the end of the day. The roller cassette can be removed and cleaned and re greased. - I would recommend a waterproof to re grease the roller - like those used on Mountain Bike Front Fork Shocks.

The tiller needs to be knocked into the stock by using the weight of the rudder on a soft surface (carpet) so that the end of the tiller can be seen at the end of the stock.
The tie down can be accomplished with a simple 2:1 over the tiller to reduce any ware on the boat.

Notice the knot is a simple overhand knot that is easy to undo on the way ashore!

Where is the pin you might ask Well we don't recommend one - if you have trouble coming into a lee shore - remove the mainsheet from the boom, letting the rig flap in front of the boat. Then after pulling the centre board out of the boat, jump out of the back and remove the rudder and tiller in one piece, having eased the traveller.
